Russell Buchanan
served in the U.S. Navy for the closing months of WWI. While stateside for the duration of his service, he vividly recalls the influenza outbreak of 1918 - 1919, which killed more U.S. servicemen in World War One than were killed in action. Now 106 years old, he resides in Watertown, Mass.
